Sometimes, the best adventures happen when you least expect them – like on a foggy Tuesday morning, when you randomly bump into your friend's sister (who turns out to be your neighbor, what a twist!), hop on a budget bus from Eindhoven to Antwerp, and catch a train to Brussels. It's the little surprises that make life so beautifully unpredictable!

Arriving at Brussel Central after a dramatic train ride, we found ourselves changing trains in the middle of nowhere. Stranded inside for 25 minutes, the suspense was real! 😅 Forced to catch the next train to Brussels Airport, we added an extra 45 minutes to our journey... but hey, sometimes it's the detours that make the adventure even more memorable, right?

But oh, was it worth it! The Grand Palace Square totally made up for the hassle. The massive golden buildings were beyond amazing, standing tall and majestic. A gorgeous Christmas tree added the perfect festive touch, and the weather? Clear blue sky with a crisp, cold breeze that made everything feel magical. Sometimes the journey is the adventure, and the destination just seals the deal!

The main goal of today? To see the famous little pissing man himself – Manneke Pis! A true icon of Brussels, this 61 cm bronze sculpture is 800 meters from the Grand Market Square, depicting a cheeky little boy peeing into a fountain’s basin. Designed by Jérôme Duquesnoy the Elder around 1618, it’s definitely one of the city’s most quirky landmarks. The current statue is a replica from 1965, while the original is safely tucked away in the Museum of the City of Brussels. It’s funny, it’s weird, and it’s totally Brussels!"

Infront of the statue we took pic from a charming lil cafe with lots of bicycles hanging on the wall.

After leaving the lil pissing man behind, we walked about a kilometer to continue our adventure – comic strip hunting! Brussels is full of these incredible murals, and though we were on a bit of a time crunch, we managed to visit a few of them. Each one was like stepping into a new world, bursting with color and creativity. Definitely a highlight of our day!

2 things you really have to eat in Brussel , Fliffing hot sugar waffle and Chocolates ... lots of chocolates!

When you're in Brussels, a visit to the Tintin shop is a must! Tintin, the iconic reporter and adventurer created by Belgian cartoonist Hergé in 1929, is a true hero. With his signature quiff and sharp intellect, Tintin travels the world with his loyal dog, Snowy, solving mysteries and embarking on thrilling adventures. From the pages of Le Petit Vingtième to his epic tales alongside friends like Capt. Haddock and Professor Calculus, Tintin’s world is filled with wit, charm, and heart. It was so fun to dive into this piece of Belgian history at the shop!.
