I have to admit—I’m not really a John Lennon fan. I’m more of a Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen kinda girl. The Beatles? Meh. I recognize some of their tunes, but they were never really my thing.

But today, for some reason, I listened to John… and it kinda woke me up from my daydreams. I always make plans, constantly thinking about what’s next, but today? I’m doing something I’d never normally do.

I’ve decided… I’m going to have a party at a thermal bath in Budapest!Because why the hell not?!

Partying in a pool, in the middle of the night, in my bikini. Even when I was younger (and let’s be honest, probably hotter), I would never have done this… yet here I am!

Lady Fortune was on our side—some sweet kiddos handed us a free entrance pass, so we only had to pay for two. Score!  The atmosphere was electric—a DJ spinning summer beats, people dancing, laughing, and just living their best lives.

Surrounded by young adults in their tiny bikinis, I could have let myself feel ancient… but hell no, I refused to let it get to me. This was my night too!

We cheers’d with our ice-cold tequila beers and then jumped right into the hot pool, the contrast between the heat and the cold giving us life! We danced through the night, letting the music carry us, laughing like teenagers—carefree, wild, and completely in the moment. It was like time didn’t even exist.

What an amazing experience! I felt young again, and the hot water really did wonders, melting away all the pain from the walking earlier. It was such a joy to just be happy again, with no worries about tomorrow… just pure bliss.

The place stays open until 3am, and admission is about €50—which includes the locker. Pro tip: bring your own towel and flip-flops, because buying them there is an absolute rip-off. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the water? Amazing. They even had some circus acts throughout the night, adding to the vibe.

We finally left at 2:30am, but the taxi ride was… wild.  Our driver clearly thought he was Max Verstappen racing through the streets! I’ve never prayed the Hail Mary so much in my life. Thank God we made it home safe and sound!

Széchenyi Bath , Budapest, end of beautiful Sept.
