If the mountain will not come to me, I will have to come to the mountain ~~

One last-minute call from my childhood friend—whom I haven't seen in what feels like lifetimes—somehow ended with me booking an absurdly expensive flight to Zurich. Did I once say money doesn’t buy happiness? Yeah… next time I say that, please feel free to slap some sense into me.

What did I get for my Eur 300 flight? A coffee that tasted like pure acid and a tiny tub of ice cream. Since I’m lactose intolerant, my seat neighbor got the only 'treat' of the trip. Money well spent? Absolutely not

Took a train from Zurich Airport to Luzern—. I finally managed to catch up on some much-needed sleep.

Such a beautiful October afternoon—finally reunited over coffee and pastries, overlooking a stunning dam with emerald waters. The view, the company, the moment… my heart feels so full and content.

My friend asked me not to post her picture on my blog, and of course, I respect that. Funny how life works—you meet people for a reason, even if it’s not clear at the time. The moment I saw her, it was like a movie in fast forward, bringing back all those childhood memories. It’s crazy to think we lost touch for so long, but maybe that just made our reunion even more special.
This trip reminded me how short life is and how important it is to spend time with those who truly matter. Today, I got to relive my childhood—climbing trees, flying kites, getting tetanus shots together (don’t ask), stealing mangoes from the neighbors, racing our pushbikes, and making fun of the girly girls. Where did those days go? I demand a do-over!
As we sat in the heart of Luzern, sipping our final drinks, reality set in—she had to head back to the clinic, and I had an evening flight to catch. But we didn’t say goodbye. No, we settled on “safe journey,” because she’ll always be with me.
Three days later, I lit a candle, played our song—Pachelbel’s Canon in D—and looked up at the sky with a smile.
From today on, Luzern will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you, Switzerland, for taking care of my best friend.
