First Trip Post-Surgery: Heidelberg Road Trip.
My first adventure after surgery—a road trip to the charming town of Heidelberg, Germany! A 4.5-hour drive from Eindhoven, nestled in the southwest of Germany in the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Of course, I had to visit Heidelberg Castle, one of Germany’s most famous landmarks. It took me almost an hour to climb up the hill (hey, no judging—I just had surgery a week ago! . But honestly? Totally worth it. The view from the top was breathtaking, and I couldn't stop snapping pictures and thanking God for letting me experience this. Magnified! I loved every second of it.
Funny to think—I’ve traveled all over the world, yet somehow never made it to Heidelberg until now! It’s also famous for its university, with almost a quarter of the population being students. For a second, I almost walked into a student café for a budget-friendly dinner—until my friend reminded me that I’m no longer a student and can actually afford a decent meal. Oops.
What did I love most about this trip? Aside from the beer and currywurst (which were amazing, by the way), I adored: The endless greenery. The river flowing peacefully. The Old Bridge with its fairytale charm. The fascinating mix of people wandering around
I could’ve stood on the other side of the Old Bridge for hours, just watching the world go by. Heidelberg, you stole a piece of my heart.

Note to Self: Next time, bring beer and sunscreen!
It was hot, and if y’all know me well, you know that heat and I are NOT besties. But standing on the Old Bridge, overlooking the charming Old Town, made it all worth it.I wish i brought my beer and sunscreen, as it was hot and if y'all known me well, heat and i are not not a best combo, the old bridge overlooking the old town.

Nothing hits the spot like Currywurst and spicy chips! I call them "Friet" in Dutch, but in English? Definitely chips, not French fries. (Let’s not start a debate here!)
And, of course, gotta wash it all down with some fresh lemonade—because balance, right?

I know, I know… don’t judge! At least I had ice-cold water with my beer—balance, right?
But seriously, how can anyone resist an ice-cold German beer? Paulaner—it tastes like heaven. After almost a year without a good beer, I think I’ve earned this one… without a lecture, please!

Me, Myself & I: A Victory Pose
Proudly standing at the top of the hill, right in front of Heidelberg Castle—because after that climb (which almost killed me), I earned this moment!
As my old man always says, "You won’t know if you don’t try." And guess what? I tried. I made it. And I’m kinda proud.
But let’s be real… I really wish I had brought a walker instead of my Timberland sandals. Priorities !!!!
