Sweet Port, colourful buildings, and Harry Potter, Porto, i just can’t stop visiting you.

When January blues hit me i can‘t just stay put and feel miserable, i gotta go somewhere where the sky is blue and the sun is shining, i don’t mind cold, i just need to go away, where i can charge my battery a bit, and Porto is calling my name... I am sorry Greta, i gotta leaving on the jetplane again...

Luis I bridge, A symbol for Porto, this double metal arched bridge opened in 1886. It was conceived by the German engineer Théophile Seyrig who cofounded the Eiffel Company.

The bridge crosses the steep, rocky banks of the Douro and rises to almost 45 metres... i was fighting with my fear to high and i lost ...

Cais da Ribeira, A chaotic and fun to explore, Porto’s riverside area is a very picturesque piazza where tourists and locals mingle.

There are bars and restaurants around every corner, and these line the riverside walk too.

Take a stroll here to admire the colorful buildings, and stop at one of the waterfront cafes for a coffee or glass of wine.

A visit to Port wine cellars is a mandatory activity on any trip to Porto, i tried the one on the riverside, Cruz, but to be honest , please dont kill me , i dont like it , too sweet for me , i even tried the super dry one .. nah thank you .

Fall in love with this fabulous bookshop and the totally unique spectacle of an amazing interior architecture. This bookshop inspired (yes, that’s it !) the Harry Potter’s library in Hogwarts. In fact, J.K Rowling lived in Porto teaching English in the early 1990s. Unfortunately it’s forbidden to make a picture inside.

The street of Porto Centre.

Clérigos Church – This Baroque church is most well known for its bell tower, the 75,6 metres Torre dos Clérigos. You can climb the bell tower for great views out over Porto, though note that you'll have to ascend more than 200 steps first.

Palacio da Bolsa, The former stock exchange of Porto, Palácio da Bolsa building dates back to the 19th century. Although, fairly young when you think of it and yet it is one of the city’s best known historical gems.

The colourful buildings put smile on my face.

Igreja do Carmo – This Baroque-style church is striking because of the painted tiles on its exterior. It's also interesting because it's connected to the Igreja dos Carmelitas.

Whilst you walking all the way to Ribeira you wil stumble upon beautiful alleys ..

I haven’t done a lot of walking this time, ijust enjoyed the colourful buildings, the beautiful surroundings and the blue sky.. haven’t manage to do some culinaire trips too as my visit really short this time, athough i only been here for a short time, i feel recharged again and ready to start a new week .... obrigado Porto.. till next time...

next trip : Malta .

Porto, January 11th
