When the January blues start creeping in, I can’t just sit and sulk—nah, I’ve got to chase the sun! Porto, with its blue skies and cozy vibes, is calling my name like a warm hug on a chilly day. Sorry, Greta, but I’m off on another jet-set adventure. Time to recharge and soak up those good vibes!"

h, the Luís I Bridge – it’s such an iconic spot in Porto! That height can definitely be a bit intimidating, especially when you’re standing on top of those steep, rocky banks of the Douro River. But sometimes, losing the fight with fear is the best way to push yourself to experience something new and awe-inspiring. The views from up there are totally worth it, right? What was the moment like for you, standing up there?

Cais da Ribeira sounds like the heart and soul of Porto! It’s one of those places where the lively energy of the streets, the vibrant colors of the buildings, and the delicious food and drink just pull you in. I love how the riverside walk offers the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement—sipping a coffee by the water, watching the boats glide by, and soaking in the views. Have you picked out a favorite spot yet, or are you still exploring?

A visit to Port wine cellars is a mandatory activity on any trip to Porto, i tried the one on the riverside, Cruz, but to be honest , please dont kill me , i dont like it , too sweet for me , i even tried the super dry one .. nah thank you .

Fall in love with this fabulous bookshop and the totally unique spectacle of an amazing interior architecture. This bookshop inspired (yes, that’s it !) the Harry Potter’s library in Hogwarts. In fact, J.K Rowling lived in Porto teaching English in the early 1990s. Unfortunately it’s forbidden to make a picture inside.

The street of Porto Centre.

Clérigos Church – This Baroque church is most well known for its bell tower, the 75,6 metres Torre dos Clérigos. You can climb the bell tower for great views out over Porto, though note that you'll have to ascend more than 200 steps first.

Palacio da Bolsa, The former stock exchange of Porto, Palácio da Bolsa building dates back to the 19th century. Although, fairly young when you think of it and yet it is one of the city’s best known historical gems.

The colourful buildings put smile on my face.

Igreja do Carmo – This Baroque-style church is striking because of the painted tiles on its exterior. It's also interesting because it's connected to the Igreja dos Carmelitas.

Whilst you walking all the way to Ribeira you wil stumble upon beautiful alleys ..

I haven’t done a lot of walking this time, ijust enjoyed the colourful buildings, the beautiful surroundings and the blue sky.. haven’t manage to do some culinaire trips too as my visit really short this time, athough i only been here for a short time, i feel recharged again and ready to start a new week .... obrigado Porto.. till next time...

next trip : Malta .

Porto, January 11th
